CITIES ha un format ormai consolidato, che si presta a veicolare, soprattutto con i linguaggi della fotografia Urban e Street, produzioni autoriali.
Ecco perché abbiamo voluto omaggiare IL PIù GRANDE EVENTO AL MONDO con una fanzine autoriale. Un bel volume di 128 pagine, formato A4, che offre uno sguardo personale di 13 bravi fotografi a questo grande evento, ognuno con la propria sensibilità, il proprio stile, il proprio vissuto.
C’è chi si è concentrato sulla spiritualità, chi sull’umanità delle persone incontrate, chi sull’impatto visivo e simbolico di certi momenti. Alcuni hanno raccontato la bellezza, altri la fatica, qualcuno lo smarrimento. Ma tutti hanno raccontato qualcosa di vero.

IL MAHA KUMBH MELA
Si svolge a Prayagraj (in precedenza chiamata Allahabad) nello stato indiano dell’Uttar Pradesh; è’ il più grande evento religioso al mondo.
Ci sono tre differenti “kumbh Mela”:
Il Purna Kumbh Mela (completo kumbh Mela) si celebra ogni tre anni a rotazione nei quattro luoghi sacri principali dell’India; Prayagraj, Haridwar, Ujjain, e Nashik.
l'Ardh Kumbh Mela (mezzo kumbh mela); si celebra ogni sei anni nei due luoghi principali sacri; Haridwar e Prayagraj.
Il Maha Kumbh Mela (grande kumbh mela) che avviene dopo quattro “purna kumbh mela” e quindi ogni dodici anni. Si celebra sempre nei quattro principali luoghi sacri: Prayagraj, Haridwar, Ujjain, e Nashik.

That's why we wanted to pay homage to THE BIGGEST EVENT IN THE WORLD with an authorial fanzine. A beautiful volume of 128 pages, A4 format, which offers a personal look of 13 good photographers at this great event, each with their own sensitivity, their own style, their own experience. There are those who focused on spirituality, those on the humanity of the people met, those on the visual and symbolic impact of certain moments. Some told of beauty, others of fatigue, some of bewilderment. But they all told something true.

MAHA KUMBH MELA
It takes place in Prayagraj (formerly called Allahabad) in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh; It is the largest religious event in the world.
There are three different "kumbh Mela":
The Purna Kumbh Mela (complete kumbh Mela) is celebrated every three years in rotation in the four main sacred places of India; Prayagraj, Haridwar, Ujjain, and Nashik.
the Ardh Kumbh Mela (half kumbh mela); it is celebrated every six years in the two main sacred places; Haridwar and Prayagraj.
The Maha Kumbh Mela (great kumbh mela) which takes place after four "purna kumbh mela" and therefore every twelve years. It is always celebrated in the four main sacred sites: Prayagraj, Haridwar, Ujjain, and Nashik.
