In due giorni porterai a casa un bel po' di know how con l’aiuto di un autore internazionale ormai molto conosciuto per il suo stile nella street photography.
Giedo van der Zwan ti aiuterà a perfezionare il tuo approccio alla street, ti mostrerà come afforntare le persone coinvolte e come trovare la miglior composizione per la tua fotografia.
Il ws si svolgerà in lingua inglese, ma Angelo Cucchetto sarà sempre presente e tradurrà in simultanea, per chi avesse poco dimestichezza con l’Inglese. Giedo parla 3 lingue ma l’Italiano lo mastica malamente:)
La partecipazione al ws costa euro 200+iva, e per prenotare occorre compilare il relativo modulo sul sito Italiastreetphotography.com e procedure al pagamento. Il Ws prevede un massimo di 12 partecipanti.
Il ws si svolgerà sabato 22 e Domenica 23 ottobre a Roma, e farà base per la parte teorica dal nostro partner Otto Rooms & Gallery, un resort di prima categoria dedicato alla Fotografia in piazza Mazzini dove è possible (fino ad esaurimento prenotazioni) anche alloggiare in una delle 6 camere disponibili al momento per questo ws. Attenzione, venerdi sera 21 ottobre da Officine Fotografiche Roma inaugura la mostra Cities – a contemporary view, e Giedo van der Zwan sarà presente all’opening, dove vi saranno anche altri autori presenti in mostra o sul magazine Cities 10, tra cui Stefano Mirabella e Simona Ottolenghi.
Programma del ws:
Sabato 22 ottobre, 10 – 19
Al mattino Giedo mostrerà e illustrerà il suo approccio e diverse tecniche che potrete utilizzare voi stessi durante il resto della giornata.
Successivamente, ci dirigeremo verso luoghi scelti e fotograferemo (molto) per le strade di Roma. Giedo scatterà al tuo fianco, offrendoti consigli e suggerimenti.
Alla fine della giornata, tutti faranno una selezione degli scatti per ottenere un feedback utile (e farsi un sano aperitivo).
A seconda del lavoro e delle richieste di ogni partecipante, Giedo darà un incarico personale per il giorno successivo: un tema, un assignment preciso, che sarà pensato per aiutarti a focalizzare il tuo stile.
Domenica 23 ottobre, ore 10 – 18
caffè e brain storming, poi in strada per lavorare sui singoli incarichi.
Verso le 13 breve pausa per il pranzo durante la quale è possibile chiedere a Giedo qualche input in più. Dopo pranzo torniamo in strada per continuare a scattare.
Verso le 17:00 ci riuniamo in una posizione centrale e, se lo desidera, ogni partecipante potrà presentare le sue immagini sul suo tablet o laptop o iinviarli a Giedo e usare il suo iPad. Come gruppo esamineremo e discuteremo le immagini presentate.
Cosa portare:
- Una fotocamera e un obiettivo singolo - preferibilmente un obiettivo grandangolare fisso , 28 o 35 mm (equivalente full frame)
- Abbastanza batterie piene / caricabatterie
- Abbastanza memoria sulla tua scheda per scattare per 2 giorni (probabilmente girerai circa un migliaio di immagini ... quindi preparati)
- Se vuoi: un flash. Giedo può mostrarti modi interessanti come usare il flash in modo creativo
- Inoltre, se vuoi: un iPad, un laptop o uno smartphone di grandi dimensioni per presentare le tue immagini
A proposito di Giedo
Giedo van der Zwan (46 anni) vive a L'Aia (Paesi Bassi), non lontano da una famosa località balneare chiamata 'Scheveningen'. È qui che fotografa la maggior parte del tempo, godendo della diversità e dell'imprevedibilità degli escursionisti sullo sfondo di un ambiente costiero in continua evoluzione. La fotografia di Giedo si concentra su 'persone reali' e il suo stile è molto riconoscibile: colorato, contrastante, spesso cattura emozioni o mostra uno strano twist. Workshop Cool Streets in Rome with Giedo van der Zwan
If you really like street photography and are looking to perfect your style this workshop is for you!
In two days you will take home a lot of know-how with the help of an international author now well known for his style in street photography.
Giedo van der Zwan will help you refine your approach to streets, show you how to deal with the people involved and how to find the best composition for your photography.

Program of the ws:
Saturday October 22, 10,00 am – 7,00 pm
In the morning Giedo will show and illustrate his approach and different techniques that you can use yourself during the rest of the day.
Next, wewill head to chosen places and will shoot (a lot) through the streets of Rome. Giedo will be at your side, offering you advice and suggestions.
At the end of the day, everyone will make a selection of the shots to get useful feedback (and have a healthy aperitif).
Depending onthe work and the requests of each participant, Giedo will give a personal assignment for the next day: a theme, a precise focus, which will be designed to help you focus your style.
Sunday October 23, 10,00 am – 7,00 pm

Around 1 pm short break for lunch during which you can ask Giedo for some more input. After lunch we go back to the street to continue shooting.
At around 5:00 pm we gather in a central location and, if the participant wishes, each participant can present the images on their tablet or laptop or send them to Giedo and use their iPad. As a group we will review and discuss the images presented.
What to bring:
- One camera and one single lens - preferably a fixed wide-angle lens , 28 or 35 mm (full frame equivalent)
- Enough full batteries/chargers
- Enough memory on your card to shoot for 2 days (you will probably shoot about a thousand images ... then prepare)
- If you want: a flash. Giedo can show you interesting ways how to use flash creatively
- Plus, if you want: an iPad, laptop or large smartphone to present your images
About Giedo
Giedo van der Zwan (46 years old) lives in The Hague (Netherlands), not far from a famous seaside resort called' Scheveningen'. It is here that he photographs most of the time, enjoying the diversity and unpredictability of hikers against the backdrop of an ever-changing coastal environment.
Giedo's photography focuses on 'real people' and his style is very recognizable: colorful, contrasting, often capturing emotions or showing a strange twist. His work has led to numerous publications, awards and exhibitions around the world.
