CITIES PRESENTS A SERIES OF SPECIAL FANZINES: CITY STREEPHERS, the European metropolises from a street perspective.
After the CITIES fanzines dedicated to two major events such as the one produced in October 2024 for Lucca Comics & Games and the very recent one dedicated to the Kumbh Mela, we have decided to launch a series of monographic fanzines, CITY STREEPHERS, the European metropolises from a street perspective.
It therefore starts at the end of June with an open call promoted by ISP - Italian Street Photography, incubator on urban photography and manager of the magazine CITIES (www.italianstreetphotography.com ) and FOTOgraphia, historic photography magazine (www.fotographiaonline.com/ ) for a series of Cities specials dedicated to European metropolises, in fanzine format.
The first cities involved will be the Italian cities of Milan and Rome, but they will only be the first of a long series of supplements to the magazine CITIES. The format of the fanzines produced will be the classic A4 (21x29.7cm vertical), and will be promoted and reported in the main themed events.
For each fanzine, about 12 authors will be selected, who will be present with 10 pages each dedicated to their series, a format already successfully tested with the previous CITIES fanzines. The graphics will be consistent with the magazine and the fanzines already produced.
The Cities team (Angelo Cucchetto, Richard Bram, Gianluca De Dominici and Sonia Pampuri) will co-opt Filippo Rebuzzini (aka Ottavio Maledusi) as curator of these editorial proposals for these first two fanzines.
We will try to tell the metropolis with a street cut, but at the same time offering an authorial vision, which characterizes the work of each photographer.
The proposed works do not necessarily have to be reportages, but they must still have a precise common thread, whether aesthetic or stylistic, symbolic or semantic, without any discriminating between color and black and white.
The call will last 3 months, expiring on September 30th, and you can submit your application by sending the following material:
- Short biography with your details
- Synopsis of the images sent, which must necessarily have been taken in Milan or Rome.
- 20 / 30 images (jpg, short side of at least 1000 pixels)
There is an all-inclusive participation fee of € 200 (+VAT) for each selected author.

For the fanzine on Milan, the exceptional witness will be Giorgio Galimberti with his own series.
For the fanzine on Rome, the exceptional witness will be Roberto Gabriele with his series, and all the photographers who have participated in the past editions of RVacanze Romane or who will participate in the next one (https://viaggiofotografico.it/viaggi/vacanze-romane-2/ ) if selected will have a special discount of 10% on the fee

Dopo le fanzine CITIES dedicate a due grandi eventi come quella prodotta ad ottobre 2024 per Lucca Comics & Games e la recentissima dedicata al Kumbh Mela abbiamo deciso di lanciare una serie di fanzine monografiche, CITY STREEPHERS, le metropoli Europee in ottica street.
Si parte pertanto a fine giugno con una open call promossa da ISP - Italian Street Photography, incubator sulla fotografia urbana e gestore del magazine CITIES (www.italianstreetphotography.com ) e FOTOgraphia, storica rivista di fotografia (www.fotographiaonline.com/ ) per una serie di speciali di Cities dedicati alle metropoli europee, in formato fanzine.
Le prime città interessate saranno le Italiane Milano e Roma, ma saranno solo le prime di una prevista lunga serie di supplementi del magazine CITIES. Il formato delle fanzine prodotte sarà il classico A4 (21x29,7cm verticale), e verranno promosse e segnalate nelle principali manifestazioni a tema.
Per ogni fanzine verranno selezionati c.a 12 autori, che saranno presenti con 10 pagine ciascuno dedicate alle loro serie, un format già sperimentato con successo con le precedenti fanzine CITIES. La grafica sarà coerente con il magazine e le fanzine già prodotte.
Il team di Cities (Angelo Cucchetto, Richard Bram, Gianluca De Dominici e Sonia Pampuri) coopterà per queste due prime fanzine Filippo Rebuzzini (aka Ottavio Maledusi) come curatore di queste proposte editoriali.
Cercheremo di raccontare le metropoli con un taglio street, ma al contempo offrendone una visione autoriale, che caratterizzi il lavoro di ogni fotografo.
I lavori proposti non dovranno essere necessariamente dei reportage, ma dovranno comunque avere un preciso fil rouge, che sia esso estetico o stilistico, simbolico o semantico, senza alcuna discriminante tra colore e bianconero.
La call avrà la durata di 3 mesi, con scadenza il 30 settembre, e potrai presentare la tua canditura inviando il seguente materiale:
- Breve biografia con tuoi dati
- Sinossi immagini inviate, che dovranno necessariamente essere state scattate a Milano o Roma.
- 20 / 30 immagini (jpg, lato corto di almeno 1000 pixel)
É previsto un fee di partecipazione di euro 200 (+iva) omnicomprensivo per ogni autore selezionato.
